S.A.G.E Student Map Contest

A local organization of Surveyors Architects Geologists and Engineers (S.A.G.E) deidicated to enhancing our community.

In honor of National Geographic Awarenes week, this contest was introdued to promote a better understanding of the importance of geography in our world and to encourage the creative talents of our youth in our community.

The El Dorado County and Georgetown Divide Resource Conservation Districts are proud to help organize and implement this contest in association with S.A.G.E. Visit the Map Contest website for 2011 winners.

 

Farm Day

A fun day of learning for 3rd grade students! Every May El Dorado County Ag in the Classroom (AITC) hosts hundreds of third grade students at the fairgrounds for an all-day interactive learning event. During this fun educational field trip, students learn about agriculture in context of local farms, ranches, and forests. Al activities are designed to meet California state standards for third grade currciulum.

Since 2009, the El Dorado County and Georgetown Divide Resource Conservation Districts has helped implement this event and for the past two years has coordinated the event on behalf of AITC. Visit the AITC website for more information.
