Great Sierra River Cleanup

The Great Sierra River Cleanup is sponsored by the Sierra Nevada Conservancy and is part of Coastal Cleanup Day organized by the California Coastal Commission and cooperating organizations throughout the state. This event is a partnership between the local RCDs, the American River Conservancy, Eldorado National Forest, CA State Parks, City of Placerville, the BLM and the Sierra Nevada Conservancy. Join us in Placerville after the cleanup for a celebration with live music and great food!

The rivers of the Sierra Nevada region provide almost 65% of the state’s developed water needs on their way down to the Pacific Ocean. Unfortunately our waterways have historically been a dumping ground for waste. Together, we can help raise awareness about issues of watershed conservation, fighting litter, encouraging reduction of consumption and recycling, and promoting community pride. Thank you for joining us in this effort.
